What I made in January 2022

Hi everyone, just for fun I want to list the sewing projects I finished (yay!) in January. I wish I have taken better pictures of these, but I figured that if I wait until that happens, March might arrive before I finally manage to write about these. Between work, family, sewing, and updating this blog, beautiful photos are (sadly) not my priority, at least for the time being.

Progress on Fuwari Fuwari skirt

My first project using the Nani Iro fabrics is a pleated elastic skirt. It’s my seventh sewing project this year but I am taking a long time to finish it mainly because halfway of making it, I started working again after three months of maternity leave. In between working, cooking, taking care of my baby Inayah, and other things, I can only squeeze some limited time for sewing.

Welcome 2022 with Nani Iro

Welcome 2022! I don’t have a list of significant resolutions this year, just like last year haha. But on sewing/creativity front, I definitely have a few in mind. One of them is of course, sewing plans! At the end of last year, I made a huge (at least for me, it’s huge) fabric purchase from Nekoneko Fabric online store, and they arrived early this year yay!

I made Breeze Shirt(s) from Twig+Tale

This is a blog post for my old projects haha. Back in May, I purchased Breeze shirt pdf pattern from Twig+Tale. My husband is a no-nonsense guy, he cannot accept interesting/creative shirt designs, so he only liked the ones he was familiar with: formal simple plain-looking shirts. I wanted to make a nice shirt for him… so after thorough online searches + discussions with him, he liked the design of the Breeze shirt and so I made it for him.

Simplicity 8427 review

Hi everyone! It has been a long time since I have updated my blog. The sudden Movement Control Order (MCO) in Malaysia due to COVID-19 outbreak caught us all by surprise. The sudden need to work from home, the cancellation of my exam and the surprisingly scary thought of having a lot of spare time made me forgot to do a lot of routine things like updating my blog 😛 .

Simplicity 8736 silk satin blouse Part 2

I finished making the Simplicity 8736 vintage blouse on Friday and I love it so so much that I wore it the next day! This is the first time that I see darts on the bottom section of the bodice. They help to reduce the bulk of the fabric when you wear it with a skirt or a pants outside. The blouse was so comfortable and I am glad that I made zero alteration to the pattern.

I plan to make a burnt orange linen skirt to pair with it, so stay tune!

Simplicity 8736 silk satin blouse Part 1

Hi everyone. Amidst my chaotic life right now (office work amid mounting COVID-19 worries which led us to actually took the test and gladly found that we all have tested negative, my halted CFA studies which led me to believe that I am going to fail this Jun’20, and continued lack of motivation at work and work environment too!), I manage to take another sewing project: Simplicity 8736.
