Hi everyone, just for fun I want to list the sewing projects I finished (yay!) in January. I wish I have taken better pictures of these, but I figured that if I wait until that happens, March might arrive before I finally manage to write about these. Between work, family, sewing, and updating this blog, beautiful photos are (sadly) not my priority, at least for the time being.

Simplicity 8427 review

Hi everyone! It has been a long time since I have updated my blog. The sudden Movement Control Order (MCO) in Malaysia due to COVID-19 outbreak caught us all by surprise. The sudden need to work from home, the cancellation of my exam and the surprisingly scary thought of having a lot of spare time made me forgot to do a lot of routine things like updating my blog 😛 .

Simplicity 8736 silk satin blouse Part 2

I finished making the Simplicity 8736 vintage blouse on Friday and I love it so so much that I wore it the next day! This is the first time that I see darts on the bottom section of the bodice. They help to reduce the bulk of the fabric when you wear it with a skirt or a pants outside. The blouse was so comfortable and I am glad that I made zero alteration to the pattern.

I plan to make a burnt orange linen skirt to pair with it, so stay tune!

Simplicity 8736 silk satin blouse Part 1

Hi everyone. Amidst my chaotic life right now (office work amid mounting COVID-19 worries which led us to actually took the test and gladly found that we all have tested negative, my halted CFA studies which led me to believe that I am going to fail this Jun’20, and continued lack of motivation at work and work environment too!), I manage to take another sewing project: Simplicity 8736.

Batik shopping in Kelantan, Malaysia (Part 3)

Hi all! So my batik fabric hunting in Kelantan did not stop with Kartika Kiara Batik. After that, we went to Wisma Songket Hjh Cik Bidah bt Cik Yin (Cik Bidah for short)…. which turned out to be my favourite of all!

They have a lot of block-printed batik fabrics. Well actually, when I think carefully about it, I would say all of the batik fabrics in the shop are block-printed. I found some hand-painted fabrics, but those are already made into finished products.
