Batik shopping in Kelantan, Malaysia (Part 1)

For the Chinese New Year break, I came back to my family’s village in Kelantan with one important mission in mind: I wanted to explore batik shops there 😛 . I don’t know why, but I never knew about the existence of batik manufacturers in Kelantan before hahaha. Previously, I often thought of batik arts as being a specialty of Terengganu (another state in Malaysia). It was through one of my Instagram searches that I found out about batiks in Kelantan.

Fabric shopping in People Textile, Petaling Street, KL

So from my previous post, I did mentioned about my trip to Fah Num. Right after Fah Num, I went to People Textile, which is just across the street. I have a feeling that this shop has been here for ages, considering how old the building is. The first interesting thing that I noticed: you cannot simply enter the shop… you need to press the bell first and wait for them to open the door for you.

Fabric shopping in Fah Num, Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur

Hi guys! Today I went to two fabric stores in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and I feel like writing about them here on the blog. Since last year actually I have this idea of blogging about where to buy fabrics and craft supplies during my travels: be them here in my beloved country Malaysia, or in any other countries for that matter. I am reminded by how thankful I am to a lot of bloggers and their posts which helped me to decide where to go in Japan back in August, and informed me a lot of important tips that I wouldn’t get elsewhere. So I figure out that I need to do the same!
